An update

Hello CCPR Folks

I just wanted to update everyone on what’s happening in my “little world.” I’m still at Make-A-Wish (www.swo.makeawish.ca) the website I update/write content for, and I’ve signed a year contract for Wish Coordinator. I’m super excited, and nervous. It’s a huge job, and it’s very emotional/bitter sweet, but it’s something I believe in very much, so it makes it all worth it Hope everyone is well and having luck finding jobs that will make them become rich and famous! Keep in touch. To all who read this,

This is it.  My first ever blog entry (minus the odd “comment” I have made in the past).  I’m doing it here…in our little CCPR community Chris, the hottest boy from Timmins, created for us. 

Why now?

The best answer of course is…why not now.   As some of you might be aware of, Chris and I are mighty Torontonians now.  We hang out and make trips to London together.  During one of our trips, Chris informed me of the social media scene and suggested how I could get involved.  My knowledge increased, but I never jumped at the chance to be part of anything.  Until now….

Last night Chris invited me to an event.  A “Third Thursday”.  I will let him explain the specifics of it, but it was a great time and I learned more about the social media scene by a Shel Holtz who presented and is apparently well known in the PR/Blog scene.

So anyway…I’m here now, blogging.   I hope everyone is well.  My life is very different now than it was a year ago.  I work in a small PR boutique called The iPR Group thanks to a friend/contact of mine.  I am heavily involved with the PR work for Sony Ericsson, Manpower Canada, the new toronto.com, and others.  So far, so good.  I love Toronto, but hate the expenses.  And I hate being away from a lot of people who still call London “home”…you guys rule!

I am at work right now and need to attend to things, so I will keep this short.  I plan on keeping in touch with everyone and hope I hear from some of you.  My email/msn contact is darrenbeaupre@hotmail.com …I welcome the chance to talk to all of my former CCPR peeps.  I still have wet dreams about all of you.

Out there again soon

Hey guys,

How is everyone out there in PR land? I’ve been doing fine. My contract at Ivey will be coming to a close soon so I’ve injected myself back into Job Hunting mode. Dum dum dum! I haven’t had a whole lot of time to search thus far because I just got off of a program (Ivey Executive Program) that had me working 10-15 hour days for a month without a day off. Brutal I know, but it was a great learning experience (and the overtime cheques weren’t too shabby either). Anyway, I just thought I’d see how everyone was doing and see if anyone knows of a job that may be opening up in January. I’ve finished the annual report for the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry also so I’m looking for my next challenge. So, if you’ve heard anything about a job, help a fellowCCPRer out!
